Reception 22nd-26th February Star of the Week- Naomi

This week we have been reading ‘The Little Boat’ by Kathy Henderson. We had a go at weaving our own ocean scenes choosing the material and colours we used carefully. We then designed and made our own boats thinking carefully about the materials we used and modifying them to float on the water.

We chose plastic, rubber, wood, paper, cardboard and fabric to make our boats and enjoyed testing them out in the water tray.

In art we used water colours to depict our boats on the ocean, “some sailing into the sunset”, some sailing into a storm and some “sailing to Lapland where it is very snowy and cold”

Naomi has shown fantastic initiative and independence in her art work especially weaving her ocean scene. Well Done Naomi!
