School Admissions
Choosing a school for you child is a big decision and we appreciate that it can be daunting for parents. Here at Utkinton, we offer individual tours at a time to suit you. You will have an opportunity to see children engaged in their lessons and to speak to staff and ask any questions you may have.
Reception Intake:
Our PAN (Pupils Admission Number) for Reception is 10.
To apply, please visit the Cheshire West and Chester website.
Once we have received the admission details, parents will be invited to a welcome meeting so they can fully prepare for the start of school. Here you will meet the staff, find out about uniform, times of day, the early years curriculum and how to support your child during this transition.
We will arrange multiple visits to school in the summer term so your child can get to know the staff and school environment, so they will feel confident and settled in September. Reception staff will also liaise with nursery and preschool settings so that they get to know your child’s interests, strengths and next steps well. We also offer Home Visits.
We aim to make this transition as smooth as possible by working closely with families.
In Year Admissions:
If you moving into the area or considering moving schools for personal reasons, we would suggest you contact the school and arrange to see the school and meet with staff. Here you will have an opportunity to discuss the move and how we can best support your child.
We would then suggest that your child attends a taster session, where they spend time getting to know the pupils and the staff.
If, after this visit, you wish to apply, the process can be completed by visiting the Cheshire West and Chester Website. Once we receive the application from the local authority, we can agree a start date and we will ensure you receive a welcome pack with all of the necessary information that you need.
